This
course is great for
those who have just completed the Open Water diver certification
or have been inactive for a period of time. Our Adventure
diver program consists of 3 PADI Adventure Dives; Navigation,
Night, and Wreck. Each dive teaches important skills
and techniques that build confidence and prepare you for
diving
in the local waters surrounding Long Island. Diving here
can be challenging at times, the skills you learn on these
three dives will help you be more comfortable in the water
wherever you decide to go diving.
We offer the adventure diver program from May through October.
These dives are conducted in the Long Island Sound from our
dive boat "Sport Diver 2". Check our class schedule to find
out when these dives are offered.
Requirements:
You must be a certified diver to take this class. If
you do not own a full set of scuba gear it can be rented
but
as always we reccomend that you try and obtain as much
of your own gear as possible. You will be more comfortable
and get more out of the training dives if you are using
the same equipment on every dive. When you rent your equipment
there is no way this can be guaranteed. In addition to
your standard scuba system you will be required to have
the following items.
• Adventures In Diving Textbook • Compass
• Primary and Backup Dive Light
• Guideline Reel
• Lift bag or Surface Marker Buoy
• Dive Knife
• Slate
The compass will be used on the navigation
adventure dive. The compass and 2 dive lights will be used
on the night dive. The guideline reel, dive lights and lift
bag or marker buoy will be used on the wreck dive. The Dive
knife is carried on every dive and used as a tool mainly
for freeing oneself from entanglement should this occur. The
slate is carried on every dive and is used for communication.
*Students who have completed the Open Water
Scuba class with Swim King Scuba are eligible for a reduced
rate on rental equipment when taking this class within one
month of completing their Open Water training dives.
